Here I am painting one of my new favorite galaxies.

As you can see, I've been lost in space.

This is the exclusive make and take for the fair, for only two dollars. This make and take has the supplies to make the card above and you get to put it together yourself adding your own flair to it.

I can't wait to see you there!

Hello everyone, its been a while since I posted. I've just been wrapped up with the rigors of life and starting up a small biz. I have gotten back into painting recently, and I have been really digging making Galaxy paintings.

These are my favorites. My boyfriend commissioned me to make some with designs from one of his favorite comic books, so if anyone has any thing spacey they would like me to paint, I'm open to commissions! We also have been making a 3ftx3ft one for our new apartment.

I really like painting them because it's an abstract space and because of that there is an openness to it. You can have anything going in space. I also like all the glitter I get to use in it ; )

Happy crafting, everyone!!

Graphic 45 Design Team Application 2015

Hello everybody!

I am very excited to share with you my application to be a part of the next Graphic 45 design team! I included a variety of projects, all different lines of Graphic 45 paper (of course!)

Project #1: DENA Letter Collage with Artisan Style

I picked this paper set for my big collage project because I am so inspired by peacocks and vintage glam. Large scale collage is something I don't do very often, so I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone for this application project. I am so happy with how it came out. I was able to use a bunch of "bits" I had collected over time, like the peacock feather and cameo. Here are a few close up shots:

Project #2: Card Set with Sweet Sentiments

The color combinations in this paper set really spoke to me, and the compositions on the front of the cards came together quickly. This set goes really well with glitter Stickles- you can never have too much glitter! I used these cards to teach a class, and the ladies who made them with me had such a blast! It was a fun day.

Project #3: Manilla Envelope Mini Album with By the Sea

Another great paper line! These patterns and cut-outs worked perfectly in an album format. Who doesn't love the classic sailor look? On the inside of the pages, I made little pockets with notecards placed inside. I used this book as the example for a class I taught, so the decorations are simple.

Project #4: Card Set with 12 Days of Christmas

This was one of my first projects that I made with Graphic 45 paper, so these cards are special to me. I love all the metallic accents, the frilly details, the chipboard cut-outs. It was a very fun class to teach!

I hoped you enjoyed looking at my work!

For the love of coffee and peacocks...

Hello all!

Just a small update with a project I recently finished, and I'm super happy with it! I love peacock feathers and these colors. I also did a really cool gradient on the inside of the mug, and I hope the picture will let it show. :)

Please leave a comment and let me know what you think!

(PS- this cup is just for me, so it will not be available on my Etsy page)

Time for an update!

Hello! It has been SO LONG since I posted something, and a lot has happened!

Welcome to the craft scene- Detail Designs! It's my little stamp making company that I have started! Not much has been done with it lately due to personal life stuff, but I'm still trying to move forward. I have my Etsy shop up and running again, and here's some of the cards I've been working on!

I'm calling it my Country Chic collection! Every image was drawn by me, digitally copied, and hand colored individually. I used a couple different mediums, but the ones posted here are all done with Copic markers. Each are priced at $6.00 (plus shipping) and can be purchased at my Etsy store (HERE!)

Otherwise, stop by my stamp store and support some small business! My address is www.dd-crafts.com (OR CLICK HERE).

New Classes

Hey there everyone! My class coming up in February features a product I've always wanted to try. I used Glitter Ritz by Elizabeth Crafts. I found three techniques to try, each involving a different way to use the glitter.

This was really fun to experiment with! I used the glitter on die cuts and punches, stamped and colored on it, then used the Elizabeth Craft peel-off stickers to make the daisy card. It took some getting used to, but I think I found a good method for keeping the glitter contained and uncontaminated. (Note- not spilling half a container of purple glitter on your craft table is a good place to start.)

For those interested in the class, it will be at The Craft Retreat on Saturday, February 15th from 10:30-1:30, and costs $26. Supplies needed are the basics, an x-acto blade, alcohol based markers, and gloves if you have a sensitivity to glitter. It comes off easily with water, but you will probably get a little bit of glitter on your clothes.
